Day Two
Day 2 has been incredible. Today was our first opportunity to serve with the Dream Center– Y’all the vision and reach of this ministry is wonderful. We spent the morning teaming with Dream Center organizers and other volunteers participating in their outreach called “Adopt A Block.” They literally started with 1 and now have over 15 neighborhoods that they pour into every Saturday (including Nickerson Gardens, Imperial Courts, William Mead Homes, Ramona Gardens, Koreatown, MacArthur Park, Jordan Downs, and Pueblos). They do everything from simply inviting kids to play in the park and helping clean up the neighborhood, to distributing food and clothing donations– all with the vision to bring hope and love to these communities. Know that you would be so proud of how our students jumped in and served whole-heartedly.
This afternoon we traveled to Santa Monica for our first concert, right near where Santa Monica Pier meets Ocean Ave. We were so blessed to lift high Jesus’ Name there.
